Prime Video celebrated the legendary screenwriting duo Salim-Javed with a special roundtable conversation hosted by celebrated choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan.
The iconic duo, who revolutionized Hindi cinema with their trailblazing scripts, joined their children—Salman Khan, Zoya Akhtar, and Farhan Akhtar, all executive producers of the docuseries ‘Angry Young Men’. The event also featured Namrata Rao, the docuseries director, and offered heart-warming anecdotes, industry reflections and nostalgic memories.
Salim-Javed, known for crafting some of the most iconic films of Indian cinema, revisited their remarkable journey, from their modest beginnings as struggling writers to their ground-breaking success with films like ‘Zanjeer’, which introduced the ‘angry young man’ persona embodied by Amitabh Bachchan. Akhtar humorously recalled how their partnership began out of necessity, emphasizing their initial struggle and their eventual rise to cinematic fame.
The roundtable also brought the next generation into the conversation, with Salman Khan, Zoya Akhtar, and Farhan Akhtar sharing stories about growing up around these cinematic giants and how it influenced their own careers. Farah Khan skillfully guided the discussion, ensuring a lively and engaging atmosphere throughout.
‘Angry Young Men’, a three-part docuseries produced by Salman Khan Films, Excel Media & Entertainment and Tiger Baby, is now streaming on Prime Video across India and 240+ countries and territories.
