Prime Video has officially announced the global streaming premiere of the highly anticipated horror-comedy ‘Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank’. Directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande under the banners of Maddock Films and Jio Studios, the film is available for streaming starting October 10, in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.
The sequel features a stellar cast including Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana. The storyline picks up in the picturesque town of Chanderi, where a new supernatural threat emerges in the form of a headless ghost named Sarkata, seeking revenge after the mysterious disappearance of ‘Stree’. Vicky (Rajkummar Rao) and his friends, along with a powerful unnamed woman (played by Shraddha Kapoor), join forces to confront Sarkata and save their town.
The film, praised for its blend of humor, horror, and captivating narrative, has already had a successful theatrical run, cementing its position as a fan-favorite franchise. Dinesh Vijan, the founder of Maddock Films, expressed excitement about the film’s OTT release, reinforcing their belief in the power of storytelling. Jyoti Deshpande, President of Media & Content Business at Reliance Industries, hailed the film’s success, describing it as the No. 1 Hindi box office film of all time, perfect for a watch party at home.
Prime members in India can access the film as part of the Prime membership at ₹1499/year, with both ‘Stree 2’ and the original ‘Stree Part 1’ now available for streaming.
