Prasar Bharati is gearing up for a comprehensive coverage of the country’s Independence Day celebrations from the Red Fort on August 15, with the public broadcaster preparing to deploy the latest broadcasting technologies to bring the national event to audiences across platforms.
According to Doordarshan News, Information and Broadcasting Secretary Chanchal Kumar reviewed the preparations recently and highlighted the effort to make the coverage more technologically advanced.
The preparations are being undertaken by Prasar Bharati for the August 15 broadcast, with Doordarshan and All India Radio set to play a central role in taking the celebrations to viewers and listeners. The public broadcaster is working on extensive technical arrangements at the Red Fort to ensure seamless coverage of the proceedings.
Speaking during the review of the arrangements, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Secretary Kumar emphasised the use of the latest technology in the broadcast.
The focus, he indicated, is on leveraging modern broadcasting capabilities to enhance the quality and reach of the Independence Day coverage.
The preparations reflect Prasar Bharati’s continuing effort to modernise its coverage of major national events.
Kumar was accompanied by Prasar Bharati CEO Gaurav Dwivedi during the on-the-spot inspection at the Red Fort.
The Independence Day broadcast from the Red Fort remains one of the biggest annual assignments for the public broadcaster, requiring coordinated technical and production arrangements to capture the proceedings and deliver them to audiences across the country and beyond.
