India’s fast-growing audio storytelling platform Pocket FM has announced that its creator economy has crossed Rs.300 crore and is now on track for nearly threefold growth, aiming to reach Rs.1,000 crore by 2026. The platform also revealed that more than 300,000 creators are currently publishing content using its AI-powered tools, with plans to scale this number to one million creators over the next two years.
According to a press release, the company shared key data on creator earnings, platform growth, and global expansion plans, highlighting how AI is reshaping the economics of storytelling and content creation. The announcement comes amid broader discussions around artificial intelligence’s role in creative industries and follows conversations at the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi.
The platform’s data shows that in 2025, the top 10 percent of monetised creators collectively earned Rs.50 crore, while the top 1 percent earned more than Rs.50 lakh annually. More than 20 percent of creators are now generating over Rs.1 lakh per month, signalling a shift in how digital content creation is evolving into a sustainable income stream.
Pocket FM said its AI-powered suite is designed to simplify the storytelling process by assisting creators through different stages of content development. The system functions as an AI-driven writers’ room, where specialised agents help plan long-term story arcs, maintain narrative continuity, and refine pacing and engagement. This framework, the company claims, reduces production complexity while allowing creators to retain full creative ownership.
Speaking on the development, co-founder and CEO Rohan Nayak said the company’s goal is to remove barriers for creators while keeping human creativity at the core of content production. He noted that the platform’s model reflects the broader vision of expanding India’s AI-enabled creator ecosystem, as emphasised by Narendra Modi. Nayak added that the platform aims to enable creators from across the country to produce professional-quality content and reach large audiences without traditional industry constraints.
The company also highlighted that nearly 90 percent of creators on the platform are first-time storytellers, many of whom previously lacked access to production infrastructure, distribution networks, or professional guidance. Around 25 percent of the creators are students building careers in storytelling while continuing their education, with AI tools helping streamline production processes that earlier required specialised teams.
Beyond domestic growth, the platform is expanding its global footprint by adapting Indian intellectual properties for international audiences. Several Hindi-language titles, including ‘Mahagatha’, ‘Brahmyoddha – The Destroyer’, and ‘Brahmand Ka Rakshak’, have already been localised for listeners in the United States and Europe. The company plans to localise over 50 creator-led Indian IPs for global markets in 2026.
Pocket FM said its proprietary multilingual large language models enable contextual translation and narrative restructuring, adapting cultural references, emotional tone, and storytelling style for different markets. The platform currently generates more than 2.2 billion minutes of listening each month through creator-led audio series.
The company positioned its growth within the broader transformation of India’s digital economy, noting that rising internet penetration and global demand for diverse content are helping the country emerge as a major source of original intellectual property. With India projected to have over 950 million internet users by 2030, the platform sees strong opportunities for expanding into new languages and markets while partnering with streaming services and production houses for film and television adaptations.
Pocket FM said its creator ecosystem is built around transparent monetisation and creative control, presenting a model where technology acts as an enabler rather than a replacement for human creativity. The company emphasised that its continued focus will remain on scaling access, expanding global reach, and enabling more creators to earn sustainable incomes through digital storytelling.
