Warner Bros. Discovery has scored a major success in the children’s entertainment segment with ‘Origin of Bheem’, the latest special from the popular ‘Chhota Bheem’ franchise, emerging as the highest-rated kids’ entertainment property across children’s channels for two consecutive weeks. The achievement underscores the enduring popularity of India’s iconic animated hero and highlights the strong response to POGO’s summer programming lineup.
According to BARC India, ‘Origin of Bheem Part 1’ secured the No. 1 position in Week 18 with a viewership of 1,032 AMAs (‘000), while ‘Origin of Bheem Part 2’ continued the momentum in Week 19, recording 1,070 AMAs (‘000). The ratings were based on BARC India data and rankings within the kids’ entertainment category.
The two-part special formed a key part of Warner Bros. Discovery’s summer programming campaign and explored the origins of ‘Chhota Bheem’, taking viewers back to the events that shaped him into the beloved hero of Dholakpur. Packed with adventure, courage, and emotional moments, the special offered audiences a fresh perspective on one of India’s most successful animated characters while retaining the familiar elements that have made the franchise a household favourite.
The strong performance of ‘Origin of Bheem’ reflects the continued appeal of the ‘Chhota Bheem’ franchise among young viewers and families. Over the years, the character has evolved from a television phenomenon into one of India’s most recognisable entertainment brands, spawning films, merchandise, games, and numerous television specials.
The success of the latest special is particularly significant as ‘Chhota Bheem’ marks 18 years of entertaining audiences. Despite the emergence of new characters and changing viewing habits, the franchise continues to attract strong television audiences, demonstrating its lasting connection with multiple generations of viewers.
Industry observers note that the back-to-back ratings success also highlights the importance of event-based programming in the kids’ entertainment category, where special premieres and franchise-led storytelling continue to drive audience engagement.
With Origin of Bheem topping the charts for two consecutive weeks, POGO has further strengthened its position in the children’s entertainment space while reaffirming the enduring popularity of one of India’s most successful animated heroes.
