Okinawa Autotech, a leading manufacturer of electric two-wheelers in India, has announced the release of an upgraded version of its flagship model, the OKHI-90. The new 2023 OKHI-90 model features advanced technology and complies with the AIS-156 Amendment 3 battery pack regulations.

As part of Okinawa Autotech’s business strategy, the company is working on upgrading its entire product lineup in collaboration with its JV partner, Tacita from Italy. The 2023 OKHI-90 incorporates several enhancements, including an upgraded encoder-based motor for precise positioning, improved driving quality, and simplified servicing.

As per the press release, it also boasts a colored digital speedometer with integrated navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity, call and notification alerts, time display, and music notifications. Furthermore, the 2023 OKHI-90 offers mobile app connectivity, allowing real-time monitoring of battery SOC, speed, and on/off notifications.

He stated that the OKHI-90 has been a popular model due to its outstanding features and ergonomic design, providing customers with reliability and comfort. Equipped with an IP67 battery, upgraded encoder-based motor, and advanced connectivity technology, Okinawa Autotech aims to deliver a superior product that enhances the overall riding experience.

Since its launch in 2022, the OKHI-90 has garnered immense popularity among customers seeking a dependable electric scooter with advanced technology and an improved range. Within its first month of release, the company received over 10,000 bookings. Deliveries of the new OKHI-90 model with the AIS-156 Amendment 3 battery pack are scheduled to commence in September 2023.

Specifications for the 2023 OKHI-90 include a wide and longer seat measuring 803 mm in height and an extended wheelbase of 1,520 mm. With dimensions of L=2220 mm | W=710 mm | H=1160 mm, the scooter offers comfortable ergonomics suitable for customers of all ages. The upgraded motor with an encoder-based system provides precise positioning and signal accuracy, resulting in improved driving quality, thermal stability, and increased motor lifespan. Additionally, the motor is easily serviceable.

To ensure a comfortable ride, the front suspension is equipped with a Hydraulic Telescopic setup, while the rear features a Double Shocker with dual-tube technology suspension. The 2023 OKHI-90 is designed to tackle Indian road conditions and offers a ground clearance of 175 mm.

Notable features of the 2023 OKHI-90 include a micro-charger with auto-cut function and an E-ABS (Electronic-Assisted Braking System) with regenerative energy. The scooter can reach speeds of up to 80-90 kmph and provides a range of 160 km per charge.

Intelligence and smart connectivity are key aspects of the 2023 OKHI-90. The scooter incorporates various sensors to enhance safety and usability. The “Okinawa Connect App” enables one-tap control of the 2023 OKHI-90, allowing users to connect and control the scooter remotely using their mobile devices. Additional features include reverse mode for easier maneuvering in tight parking spots, GPS sensing with real-time positioning and turn-by-turn navigation assistance, anti-theft capabilities that sense vibrations and activate an alarm when tampering is detected, and a regenerative braking system that enhances the vehicle’s range by recharging the battery whenever the brake lever is engaged.
