Sony Pictures Network India (SPNI), on Thursday, announced its up-to-date Reference Interconnect Offer (RIO) in compliance with NTO 2.0 of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
The new RIO will be effective from December 1, 2021.
SPNI has increased the MRPs of a dozen of its GEC and sports channels up to 58 percent.
As per the new tariff regime 2.0 order (NTO), the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has mandated that a channel’s MRP must not exceed Rs 12 for it to be included in any bouquet.
The broadcaster priced 5 of its 16 Standard Definition (SD) Hindi GECs and sports channels which include Sony Sab (Rs 23), SET (Rs 24), Sony Six (Rs 15), Sony Ten 1 English (Rs 20), and Sony Ten 2 English (Rs 20).
Similarly, 8 of its 10 High Definition (HD) Hindi GECs and sports channels which include SET HD (Rs 30), MAX HD (Rs 19), Sony Sab HD (Rs 28), Ten 1 HD English (Rs 25), Ten 2 HD English (25), Ten 3 HD Hindi (Rs 20), Sony Six HD (Rs 25), and Ten 4 HD Telugu, Tamil (Rs 20) are not be included in any bouquet.
The broadcaster has made all its popular channels available only on an a-la-carte-basis.
However, the number of bouquets offered by the channel and their prices have been decreased up to 50 percent.
The broadcaster has cut down the 12 bouquets includes Happy India Marathi Blockbuster (Rs 24), Happy India Bangla Blockbuster (Rs 24), Happy India Hindi Blockbuster (Rs 24), Happy India Marathi Blockbuster Plus (Rs 31), Happy India Bangla Blockbuster Plus (Rs 31), Happy India Hindi Blockbuster Plus (Rs 31), Happy India Bangla Bishesh (Rs 16), Happy India Smart Eco (Rs 12), Happy India Smart Eco Plus (Rs 18), Happy India Marathi Blockbuster HD (Rs 37), Happy India Bangla Blockbuster HD (Rs 37), and Happy India Hindi Blockbuster HD (Rs 37).
