In a significant development, news channels Zee News, NDTV India, and Aaj Tak secured slots on DD FreeDish during the second day of the auction, for the period spanning from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025.
Zee News and NDTV India reportedly acquired slots for 18.75 crore, while Aaj Tak secured its position at 18.85 crore. ABP News and News18 India also joined the lineup at a slightly higher bid of 18.95 crore, while R. Bharat takes 18 crore.
This move marks a strategic expansion for these news channels, allowing them to reach a wider audience through the popular free-to-air DTH platform.
