In a strategic leadership realignment aimed at strengthening its core digital and strategic operations, Network18 has appointed Puneet Singhvi as the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of the group and elevated Mitul Sangani to the role of Chief Executive Officer of News18 Digital.
The announcement, made on April 4, signals Network18’s intent to sharpen its focus on digital expansion, innovation, and integrated operations across platforms.
As the newly appointed CSO, Singhvi will spearhead the group’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) function, overseeing Central Product & Technology, Partnerships, Off-platform businesses, as well as Administration and Operations across the group. He will report directly to Rahul Joshi, Managing Director of Network18 Media, and play a pivotal role in driving long-term strategic initiatives across business units.
Mitul Sangani, previously serving as CEO of Network18’s Indian languages business, steps into a broader role as CEO of News18 Digital, where he will oversee product development, technology, audience growth, and revenue operations for both News18 and Local18. His elevation underscores Network18’s ambition to consolidate its position in the rapidly evolving digital news space.
The sales teams for both News18.com and Local18 will now report to Sangani. While he will work closely with Managing Director Rahul Joshi on key digital strategy, he will continue to report to Avinash Kaul, CEO of Network18 (Broadcast), for digital revenue operations.
Meanwhile, Avinash Kaul will maintain his oversight of the broadcast business for Indian language channels, continuing to steer regional content and strategy.
This top-level reshuffle comes at a time when Network18’s digital business has witnessed exponential growth, making it one of the industry’s largest players in terms of audience engagement and digital revenue. With a portfolio of strong, multilingual brands and a robust presence across platforms, the group is now doubling down on leadership integration to fuel the next phase of innovation and monetization.
