Netflix has announced that it will start streaming WWE content in Japan from October 1.The deal will bring WWE’s weekly shows and major live events to Netflix for viewers in Japan.

WWE shows including ‘Raw’, ‘SmackDown’ and ‘NXT’ will be available to stream on Netflix. Fans will also be able to watch major WWE events such as ‘WrestleMania’, ‘Royal Rumble’, ‘SummerSlam’ and ‘Money in the Bank’.

According to an official announcement by Netflix yesterday, WWE content in Japan will be available across all Netflix plans without any additional charge. Live broadcasts will also include original English commentary along with Japanese commentary.

‘SmackDown’ will begin streaming live in Japan on October 3, followed by ‘Raw’ on October 6 and ‘NXT’ on October 7. The shows will then be available live every week on their respective days.

Fans will be able to watch WWE matches and related content, including the documentary ‘WWE: Unreal’, on any internet-connected device, from smartphones to TVs. Netflix will also make WWE’s archive library available to viewers in Japan.

Japanese-born WWE stars including IYO SKY, Asuka, Shinsuke Nakamura, KYOKI and NARAKU are part of the WWE roster.
