Netflix has announced that it will stream ‘La Velada del Ano’, a popular boxing and entertainment event, live for the next three years. The event will be available on the platform for its 2027, 2028 and 2029 editions, giving it an opportunity to reach a wider global audience.
According to an official Netflix announcement on October 19, the event was created by Spanish content creator Ibai Llanos in 2021. It features amateur boxing matches between internet personalities, along with live music performances and other entertainment activities.
‘La Velada del Ano’ has grown significantly since its launch. Its fifth edition, held in 2025, reached a peak of 9.3 million viewers watching at the same time. The average viewership also increased from around 1 million in 2021 to more than 6 million in 2026.
The event has brought together popular content creators from Spain and Latin America and has been held at major stadiums in Spain, including Madrid’s Metropolitano and Santiago Bernabeu stadiums, as well as Seville’s La Cartuja.
Until now, the event was mainly streamed on Twitch through Ibai Llanos’ channel. In 2026, it was also made available on YouTube and TikTok. From 2027, Netflix will become its exclusive live-streaming platform for the next three editions.
The partnership marks a new step in Netflix’s expansion into live entertainment, while giving ‘La Velada del Ano’ an opportunity to connect with viewers around the world.
