Netflix has announced the global premiere of its new Danish crime series ‘The Asset’, set to stream from October 27, 2025.
The six-episode action-packed thriller stars Clara Dessau, Maria Cordsen, Afshin Firouzi, and Nicolas Bro, among others, and promises a gripping tale of loyalty, deception, and moral dilemmas in the high-stakes world of crime and intelligence.
According to a Netflix press release, the series follows Tea, an aspiring police cadet who goes undercover as a jeweler to infiltrate a criminal network that has long evaded the intelligence service. In her new identity, Tea must gain the trust of Ashley, the criminal mastermind’s wife, navigating a dangerous web of crime while confronting her own loyalties. The series explores the blurred lines between right and wrong, placing character development and intricate relationships at the heart of the narrative.
Samanou Acheche Sahlstrøm, the conceptual director of ‘The Asset’, said, “I was drawn to tell this story because it explores the complexities of identity and loyalty under extreme pressure. Through Tea’s journey, we see how far someone is willing to go to do what they believe is right, especially when the boundaries between good and evil are not clear. I have always wanted to work on a crime series that puts its characters, their development, and their relationships at the very center of the story. This is precisely what The Asset does.”
Produced by Profile Pictures and helmed by directors Samanou Acheche Sahlstrøm and Kasper Barfoed, the series brings together a strong writing team, including head writers Frederik Ringtved, Adam August, and Sahlstrøm, with episode writers Johanne Algren, Astrid Øye, and Oscar Giese. The storyline, created by Adam August, promises suspenseful twists, intense confrontations, and a psychological depth that keeps viewers engaged from start to finish.
‘The Asset’ will be available for streaming worldwide on Netflix from October 27, 2025, offering audiences a tense, thrilling, and immersive exploration of crime, undercover operations, and the personal costs of living a double life.
