Global streaming giant Netflix has announced the launch of Eyeline Studios, its global production and innovation facility in Hyderabad, marking a significant long-term investment in India’s fast-growing Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) sector.
The launch event was attended by Jeff Shapiro, CEO of Eyeline Studios, Anumula Revanth Reddy, Chief Minister of Telangana, Sanjay Jaju, Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and actor-producer Rana Daggubati, the streaming platform said in a press release.
Spread across 32,000 square feet, the new facility is equipped with advanced infrastructure for visual effects, generative virtual effects, and next-generation production technologies. The studio also uses a robust hybrid cloud framework to support global production workflows.
The Hyderabad centre becomes the fifth global location for Eyeline Studios, joining its network in Los Angeles, Vancouver, Seoul, and London. The new studio will be integrated into Eyeline’s worldwide production pipeline, contributing to high-end visual storytelling across international projects.
The initiative aligns with India’s growing momentum in the AVGC industry, supported by government policy initiatives and increasing focus on skill development.
Speaking at the launch, Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy said Hyderabad has long been a hub where creativity, technology, and global talent converge. He added that Eyeline Studios’ presence would further strengthen the city’s reputation as a global centre for film production, technology, and creative storytelling.
Sanjay Jaju, Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, highlighted that Hyderabad already hosts several major global studios and continues to evolve as a centre for large-scale filmmaking and production innovation. He noted that entertainment today lies at the intersection of technology and storytelling, an area where India has strong potential.
D. Sridhar Babu, Telangana’s Minister for IT and Industries, said the government aims to build a strong talent pipeline in VFX and animation, enabling Hyderabad to emerge as a global capital for storytelling.
Actor and producer Rana Daggubati described the launch as a reflection of how far Hyderabad’s film ecosystem has progressed over the past two decades. He noted that growing audience demand for bigger cinematic experiences has pushed filmmakers and creators to raise the bar, creating opportunities for global collaborations.
Jeff Shapiro, CEO of Eyeline Studios, said India has long played a defining role in global visual effects due to its deep pool of creative and technical talent. He added that Hyderabad’s strong technology ecosystem and vibrant film culture made it an ideal location for Eyeline’s expansion.
By establishing Eyeline Studios in Hyderabad, Netflix is strengthening its long-term production capabilities while embedding advanced tools and global standards within India’s creative ecosystem.
The investment is expected to create new opportunities for VFX professionals, engineers, and artists while positioning India as a key hub in global production pipelines for film and streaming content.
