Netflix India has clinched two prestigious nominations at the highly anticipated 2023 International Emmy Awards, doubling the drama and humor for Indian audiences. The nominations include:
Best Performance by an Actress for Shefali Shah, who reprised her role as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi, aka Madam Sir, in Season 2 of the crime-drama series ‘Delhi Crime.’
Comedy category nomination for Vir Das’ stand-up special, ‘Vir Das: Landing.’
‘Delhi Crime’ Season 1 made history in 2020 by securing India’s first-ever win at the International Emmys for “Best Drama Series.” The crime-drama series has now earned its second International Emmy® nomination, this time in the Best Actress category for Shefali Shah. Vir Das, who was previously recognized with an International Emmy nomination in 2021 for his Netflix special, “Vir Das: For India,” returns with “Vir Das: Landing” in the Comedy category this year.
These nominations represent a significant milestone for Netflix India, highlighting the platform’s commitment to producing high-quality content that entertains global audiences. Out of the 10 nominations received by Netflix, two are attributed to outstanding Indian productions.
