Netflix has officially ordered a new animated series based on the hugely popular mobile gaming franchise ‘Clash of Clans.’ The upcoming show will bring to life the zany, action-packed universe of Supercell’s hit games ‘Clash of Clans’ and ‘Clash Royale’ in what’s expected to be a comical and visually thrilling adaptation.
According to a report by Variety, the untitled series will revolve around a determined yet overmatched Barbarian who must unite a ragtag group of misfits to defend their village, all while navigating the absurd politics of war that define the world of Clash. The story is set entirely in the familiar universe created by Supercell, promising fans a fresh yet authentic take on the iconic characters and settings.
Pre-production for the show is already underway. Fletcher Moules, who previously worked with Supercell on their wildly successful YouTube animated videos, is on board as the showrunner. These earlier videos have garnered hundreds of millions of views, establishing a solid animated identity for the franchise. Acclaimed writer Ron Weiner, known for his work on ‘Arrested Development’ and ‘Futurama’, will serve as head writer for the Netflix series, bringing his signature comedic flair to the storytelling. Animation duties will be handled by ICON Creative Studio, further ensuring a high-quality visual experience.
