NDTV has begun 2026 on a strong digital note, cementing its leadership position in India’s online news ecosystem with an impressive performance on YouTube during January.
As per data released by Playboard, NDTV 24×7 emerged as the most-watched English news channel on YouTube in January 2026, garnering 129.21 million views to claim the top spot. In the Hindi news segment, NDTV India recorded a massive 1,914.30 million views during the month, comfortably placing it ahead of several established competitors such as Times Now Navbharat, India TV, TV9 Bharatvarsh, ABP News, and Republic Bharat. The figures underline NDTV’s growing influence across both English and Hindi digital audiences.
In an official press release issued by NDTV, Rahul Kanwal, CEO and Editor-in-Chief, described the performance as a reflection of sustained digital focus and teamwork. He said the January YouTube numbers highlight the consistent efforts of NDTV’s digital teams across platforms, adding that digital has clearly become a primary destination for news consumption. Kanwal emphasised that the network remains committed to delivering credible journalism and meaningful conversations that audiences can trust on platforms like YouTube.
The strong showing in January mirrors NDTV’s broader digital strategy, which places equal emphasis on breaking news, explainers, long-form stories, and live coverage. By creating formats specifically designed for digital-first audiences, the network has been able to scale its reach while staying aligned with its core editorial values of clarity, balance, and credibility.
Looking ahead, NDTV plans to introduce new digital conversations and formats over the coming months as it continues to deepen engagement across platforms. With changing news consumption habits in India, the network aims to strengthen its digital footprint while remaining rooted in the trust that defines its journalism. This steady and focused approach, NDTV says, will continue to guide its digital journey in a rapidly evolving media landscape.
