In a bold and refreshing move, MY FM, the radio arm of the Dainik Bhaskar Group, has introduced a groundbreaking innovation in Indian radio with the launch of ‘’Comedy Punchayat’ — the country’s first-ever on-air stand-up comedy property. In doing so, the network has redefined how humour can be experienced on traditional platforms like radio.
While stand-up comedy has seen a meteoric rise on stage and digital platforms, bringing this art form to radio was unheard of — until now. With ‘Comedy Punchayat’, MY FM has bridged the gap between digital-age entertainment and the ever-accessible charm of FM radio.
The show features short, witty, and tightly edited audio capsules delivered by some of India’s most popular stand-up comedians, including Amit Tandon, Gaurav Gupta, and Jaspreet Singh. Known for their relatable humour and clean comic timing, the trio brings a fresh flavour to everyday listening, offering listeners a regular escape into laughter.
What sets ‘Comedy Punchayat’ apart is its integration into daily programming. These comedy capsules air every hour, across all MY FM stations, ensuring that audiences across regions can enjoy a daily dose of humour, no matter when they tune in.
Commenting on the launch, the MY FM team shared that the property is part of their continued effort to bring innovation and freshness to radio content. “We are proud to pioneer this never-before-heard format by bringing stand-up comedy on-air. Radio has always been about connection, and with ‘Comedy Punchayat’, we’re now connecting with laughter.”
