Media veteran Mihir Bhatt has joined News18 Studios as Chief Content Officer, stepping into a key leadership role as the network sharpens its focus on high-impact, multi-platform storytelling. In his new position, Bhatt will lead content strategy and development, with a mandate to build scalable IPs, strengthen brand partnerships, and drive innovation across formats.
According to a News18 Studios press release, the appointment underscores Network18 Group’s continued investment in expanding its studios business and enhancing its content capabilities across platforms. Bhatt will work closely with leadership to accelerate growth in the content and branded entertainment space.
In an internal communication, Rahul Joshi, Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of Network18 Group, highlighted Bhatt’s strengths, noting that his ability to build enduring brands, foster strategic partnerships, and navigate a rapidly evolving media landscape will be instrumental as the company explores new avenues of growth.
Bhatt brings over two decades of experience spanning television, digital, and radio. Most recently, he served as Managing Editor at Times Network and Chief Business Officer of Times Influence, where he built a robust content studio ecosystem. During his tenure, he led the creation of marquee properties such as the India Economic Conclave, Times Now Summit, and Leaders of Tomorrow, while also driving expansion into premium OTT content through collaborations with platforms like Disney+ Hotstar and Discovery+.
His career reflects a strong blend of editorial depth and business acumen. Bhatt has also led large-scale initiatives including Global Investor Summits across states and collaborated with international organisations such as the World Economic Forum. As part of the core management team in his previous role, he played a significant role in the launch of the Indian Pickleball League, marking the network’s entry into the sporting ecosystem.
Earlier, as Editor of Zee Business, Bhatt pioneered investor education initiatives that continue to serve as industry benchmarks.
At News18 Studios, Bhatt will report to CEO S Shivakumar and will oversee both the studios execution vertical and key revenue segments, including emerging markets and campaigns. Senior team members Sidharth Saini, Hemanth Kumar, and Nimar Sarkaria will now work closely with him as part of this transition.
With Bhatt’s appointment, Network18 is expected to further strengthen its content strategy, particularly in building differentiated IPs and scaling its presence in the evolving media and entertainment landscape.
