Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, longtime friends and collaborators, are set to reunite on screen for a new crime thriller titled ‘RIP,’ which will be produced under their studio Artists Equity.
Directed by Joe Carnahan, known for his work on ‘Narc’ and ‘Smokin’ Aces,” the project marks a significant return for the duo who first gained fame together after co-writing and starring in “Good Will Hunting,” a film that earned them an Oscar.
According to the platform, ‘RIP’ is being kept tightly under wraps, adding to the anticipation surrounding the film. Damon and Affleck, who have shared a remarkable journey from childhood friends in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to Hollywood stardom, have only appeared together in a handful of films, including ‘Good Will Hunting,’ ‘Dogma,’ and more recently, ‘The Last Duel.’
Their studio, Artists Equity, founded in 2022, reflects their ongoing partnership and commitment to producing compelling content. Fans of the duo can expect ‘RIP’ to deliver a gripping narrative and powerful performances, given their track record and Carnahan’s directorial expertise in gritty thrillers.
While the full cast beyond Damon and Affleck has yet to be announced, industry watchers are eagerly awaiting further updates as production on ‘RIP’ for Netflix progresses. As of now, no official release date has been set, but anticipation is high among fans and critics alike for what promises to be a standout addition to the crime thriller genre.
