According to a PTI report, the actors will play Fergus and Farkle, the sons of Shrek and Fiona. The new casting adds fresh energy to the franchise as it gears up for its next chapter. With a new release timeline announced, ‘Shrek 5’earlier slated for December 2026 will now arrive in theatres on June 30, 2027.
The film reunites original creators Walt Dohrn and Conrad Vernon, who are crafting the next instalment with the franchise’s signature humour and heart. Fans will also see the return of the iconic trio—Mike Myers as Shrek, Eddie Murphy as Donkey, and Cameron Diaz as Fiona. Zendaya, who joined the cast earlier this year, will lend her voice to the daughter of Shrek and Fiona, adding another layer to the family dynamic the film intends to explore.
