Filmmaker AR Murugadoss’s latest venture ‘Madharaasi’, starring Sivakarthikeyan, Rukmini Vasanth, and Vidyut Jammwal, is all set for its digital premiere on Prime Video from October 1.
According to an IANS report, the psychological action thriller also features Biju Menon, Vikranth, and Shabeer Kallarakkal in pivotal roles. Murugadoss said the film explores the intriguing intersection of the human mind and high-stakes action. “Raghu’s journey is at once emotional and thrilling—his disorder becoming both his greatest vulnerability and his most unexpected strength. Collaborating with Sivakarthikeyan, Anirudh, and such a remarkable cast and crew elevated the film in every way,” he added.
Set against the backdrop of Tamil Nadu, the film follows Raghu (played by Sivakarthikeyan), a car showroom employee secretly battling fregoli delusion, a rare psychological disorder that makes him believe strangers are his lost relatives. His life takes a dramatic turn when NIA officer Premnath enlists him to infiltrate a cylinder gas factory that secretly serves as an arms hub for a dangerous syndicate led by Virat and Chirag.
The narrative interweaves Raghu’s fragile mental state, a haunting past, and his tender relationship with Malathi (Rukmini Vasanth), a dental student and singer. With layers of vulnerability, courage, and unpredictability, the story promises to blur the line between delusion and destiny.
Sivakarthikeyan said portraying Raghu was both challenging and transformative. “His vulnerability, courage, and the unpredictability of his journey pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best possible way. Working with Murugadoss sir has been nothing short of a dream—his vision and precision uncovered layers in the story I hadn’t imagined.”
With its mix of emotional intensity, psychological intrigue, and action-packed sequences, ‘Madharaasi’ aims to deliver a gripping cinematic experience when it premieres on Prime Video next week.
