Lionsgate Play has sealed a strategic partnership with telecommunications giant Smart Communications Inc (Smart), the renowned streaming service provider announced on Friday.
Under the agreement, both Smart prepaid and postpaid users will gain access to Lionsgate Play’s extensive catalog of content through cost-effective premium streaming subscriptions, marking a significant advancement in the entertainment landscape of the Southeast Asian nation, PTI reported.
Rohit Jain, President of Lionsgate Play Asia, underscored the significance of this collaboration in the company’s ongoing expansion endeavors across Southeast Asia. “Our partnership with Smart is an integral part of our continued expansion efforts across Southeast Asia,” remarked Jain. He further emphasized the alignment of this collaboration with Lionsgate Play’s overarching vision of broad content distribution and diversification of its subscriber base.
“This collaboration with Lionsgate Play solidifies our commitment to delivering the widest breadth of world-class entertainment to the fingertips of Filipinos.”
Lionsgate Play, the official streaming platform of Hollywood heavyweight Lionsgate, initially set foot in the Philippines market in June 2022. Offering a plethora of blockbuster franchises such as ‘John Wick,’ ‘The Hunger Games,’ and ‘Twilight,’ alongside critically acclaimed titles like ‘La La Land’ and ‘Wonder,’ the platform has quickly become a go-to destination for quality entertainment.
Additionally, Lionsgate Play is home to a lineup of original series including ‘Power,’ ‘Gaslit,’ ‘The Serpent Queen,’ and ‘Ramy,’ catering to diverse tastes and preferences.
