Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan has officially commenced principal photography for his upcoming film ‘Naagzilla’, marking a major step in his front-line career shift into the fantasy genre.
The film, co-produced by Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films under the banner of director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, was originally slated to begin late 2025 and is scheduled for release on 14 August 2026.
While earlier reports suggested filming might begin as early as September 2025, the latest update confirms the actor has wrapped the poster shoot and principal photography is set to roll from 1 November 2025.
‘Naagzilla’ will feature Kartik in a never-seen-before avatar, reportedly as an ichchadhari naag (shape-shifting serpent), signalling a bold departure from his usual urban romantic comedy image. With its high-concept creature fantasy backdrop and visual effects-heavy execution, the film is aimed at creating a new genre-space in mainstream Hindi cinema.
As production gathers pace, Bollywood watchers will be looking out for announcements on the full cast, crew, and production schedule, while fans prepare for a wild ride into the realm of ‘naag lore’ and fantasy humour.
