JioStar has announced a special line-up of World Television Premieres for the festive season. The line-up includes Hindi and South Indian films across genres such as historical drama, romance, action and family entertainment.
The movies include ‘Raja Shivaji’, ‘Chand Mera Dil’, ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, ‘Dhurandhar’, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, ‘Gatta Kushti’, ‘Blast’, ‘Idhayam Murali’ and ‘Vishwanath and Sons’.
According to a JioStar press release from Mumbai today, Star Gold started the festive line-up with the premiere of ‘Raja Shivaji’ on September 12, followed by ‘Chand Mera Dil’ on September 20. ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ will premiere on October 18, followed by ‘Dhurandhar’ on October 25. ‘Dhurandhar’ will also be aired on Star Utsav Movies, COLORS Cineplex Bollywood and COLORS Cineplex Superhits. The line-up will continue with ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ on November 1.
On Star Vijay, the festive line-up includes ‘Kara’ in September, followed by ‘Blast’ (Tamil), ‘Gatta Kusthi’ and ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ (Tamil) in October. ‘Idhayam Murali’ and ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ will premiere in November.
Star Maa will feature ‘Blast’ (Telugu) in September, followed by ‘Maa Inti Bangaram’ (Telugu) and ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ (Telugu) in October. COLORS Kannada and Star Suvarna will feature ‘Blast’ (Kannada) and ‘Mr. X’ (Kannada) in October, followed by ‘Maa Inti Bangaram’ (Kannada), ‘Mango Pachcha’ and ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ (Kannada) during October and November. ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ will also premiere in Malayalam on Asianet in October.
JioStar said the festive line-up brings together films across different languages and genres for audiences across India. The company said the aim is to offer families more opportunities to enjoy movies together during the festive season.
According to industry data cited by JioStar, Indians spend 23 trillion minutes watching movies on television every year. Hindi movie viewing in Hindi-speaking markets increases by 45 percent during the festive period.
