JioStar Group has announced the appointment of Emmy Award winner Stephan Bugaj as Senior Vice-President of GenAI Content & Technology, marking a significant step in the company’s ambition to build AI-native, next-generation entertainment experiences as the group sharpens its focus on intelligent content pipelines, interactive storytelling and scalable creative frameworks aimed at deeper audience engagement and faster innovation.
In a press release issued yesterday, JioStar said Bugaj’s appointment reinforces its long-term commitment to integrating artificial intelligence at the core of content creation and technology. He will play a key role in shaping AI-driven formats and experiences that blend creativity with advanced technology, as the group looks to define the future of global entertainment.
Bugaj joins JioStar from Genvid Entertainment, where he served as Chief Creative Officer and co-developed the Massively Interactive Live Event (MILE) format. The format is known for merging streaming, gaming and live audience participation into a single, real-time experience.
At Genvid, he also led the creation of AI-native creative pipelines and tools for filmmakers, and as a creator-showrunner, delivered interactive storytelling productions that combined premium narratives with real-time audience engagement.
With over three decades of experience, Bugaj is widely regarded as a senior technology and creative leader who has consistently bridged emerging technologies with storytelling. His career includes senior creative and technology leadership roles at DJ2 Entertainment, Pixar Animation Studios, Telltale Games and Hanson Robotics.
JioStar Group has already begun deploying AI-powered capabilities across its content businesses, including conversational interfaces, second-screen engagement layers and AI-assisted production workflows. The company believes Bugaj’s expertise will significantly accelerate its efforts in building interactive, digital-first experiences designed for scale.
