Streaming platform JioHotstar has launched in the UK, Canada and Singapore as part of its international expansion.
According to a PTI report from Mumbai today, the platform will offer more than 160,000 hours of content across over 12 languages in these markets. Its content lineup will include Indian television shows, films, regional programmes, non-fiction content, kids’ entertainment and anime.
The service is aimed at the South Asian diaspora as well as a wider global audience interested in Indian stories, languages and cultures. JioHotstar will bring content from different genres and languages together on the platform for viewers in these international markets.
The platform will also continue to expand its content library. JioHotstar said it will add more than 30,000 hours of fresh content every year across the UK, Canada and Singapore.
The international launch marks JioHotstar’s expansion beyond the Indian market and gives viewers in these countries access to a wider selection of Indian entertainment content through the streaming platform.
