Filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj’s highly-anticipated Tamil action gangster drama, ‘Jigarthanda DoubleX’, featuring Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah, is slated for its digital debut on Netflix starting December 8.
This announcement follows the film’s theatrical release on November 10, marking a significant move to captivate a broader audience through the streaming platform.
Serving as a prequel to the 2014 blockbuster ‘Jigarthanda’, helmed by Subbaraj himself, the movie takes viewers deeper into the intriguing narrative of the earlier installment, PTI reported.
The news of the film’s Netflix premiere was disclosed by the South India arm of the streaming giant on its official X page. “Roll-camera-action! Indha Pandyaa Blockbuster paaka ellarum vaanga! Jigarthanda DoubleX is coming to Netflix on 8 December in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi! Coming soon in English. #JigarthandaDoubleXOnNetflix,” announced the streamer in a post.
‘Jigarthanda Double X’, extensively shot across diverse locations in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, boasts production credits by Kaarthekeyen Santhanam and S Kathiresan under the banners of Stone Bench Films and Five Star Creations, respectively.
