The first edition of the International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir (IFFJK) 2026 has received an encouraging response from filmmakers across the globe.

According to a PTI report from Srinagar today,the festival has received 875 film submissions from around 50 countries, reflecting growing interest in Jammu and Kashmir’s new cinematic platform, an official spokesperson said.

The organisers have kept the film submission window open until Thursday, giving filmmakers one final opportunity to participate in the festival’s inaugural edition.The entries include films from different parts of the world, showcasing diverse stories and filmmaking talent.

The International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir 2026 is being organised by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) in collaboration with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC).

The festival is scheduled to take place from September 7 to 10, 2026 in Jammu and Kashmir.The festival aims to provide a platform for filmmakers, promote quality cinema and bring together artists, storytellers and audiences from India and abroad.

The strong number of international entries highlights the growing recognition of Jammu and Kashmir as a destination for film and cultural events.
