The first five matches of the Indian Super League 2026-27 season recorded 65 million YouTube views and 52 million viewers, according to an estimate.
According to a PTI report from New Delhi, the season opened on October 10 with Bengaluru FC taking on Sporting Club Delhi. The opening fixture generated 8.9 million YouTube views across the reported formats, with peak concurrent viewership on the English feed reaching 85,277 viewers, according to a release.
The Inter Kashi versus Kerala Blasters FC match recorded the highest peak concurrent viewership on the English feed, at 349,073 viewers.
In comparison, NorthEast United FC vs Mohun Bagan Super Giant topped the Hindi feed with 100,660 viewers, underlining the fixture’s pull across language feeds and the growing appetite for live ISL action.
The clash between NorthEast United FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giant also stole the show on the English feed, racking up 17 million views.
Its dominance across both feeds underscores the power of multilingual coverage in tapping into India’s diverse football fanbase.
The action extended beyond the view counts, with the opening week clocking 16.8 million engaged views and drawing 120,000 new subscribers to the League’s YouTube channel, taking its subscriber base to 2.7 million.
Fans kept the digital buzz alive, generating 1.6 million live interactions through chat messages and reactions across the five matches.
ISL started last week with 13 teams competing for the ISL Shield and ISL Cup in the 13th edition of India’s top-tier men’s football tournament.
The ISL 2026-27 matches are available to watch in India on ISL’s YouTube channel and Sony Sports Network.
The first phase of the fixture list comprises 78 matches, running from October 10 to January 17.
