Hungama OTT, the digital entertainment platform, is all set to deepen its footprint in original programming with the launch of ‘Judwaa Jaal’ a six-episode whodunit crime thriller that blends suspense, layered storytelling, and intense human drama. With its slow-burning intrigue and sharp narrative arcs, the series adds a fresh edge to the platform’s content catalogue.
As per an press release from Hungama OTT, ‘Judwaa Jaal’ revolves around the mysterious death of Anamika a woman whose enigmatic life raises more questions than answers. While the circumstances of her demise suggest a tragic accident, the deeper Inspector Kunal digs, the more twisted the web becomes. All trails eventually lead to Anamika’s estranged twin sister, Shuchi a character shrouded in secrets, silence, and suspicion.
The thriller is led by Monalisa in a commanding double role, playing both Anamika and Shuchi. She is joined by Ankit Bhatia as the conflicted Inspector Kunal, Palak Singh, and Kartiq Jain each bringing complex layers to this psychological maze.
Speaking about the project, Siddhartha Roy, CEO of Hungama Digital Media, said, “With ‘Judwaa Jaal’, we’re bringing viewers a pulse-pounding thriller full of mystery, mind games and unexpected turns. It’s a story that keeps you guessing and stays with you long after each episode. We’ve crafted it for those who love immersive, edge-of-your-seat entertainment and are always looking for their next big binge.”
Monalisa, who plays the twin leads, called the series one of the most creatively challenging roles of her career. “Anamika and Shuchi may share a face, but their worlds are drastically different. One hides her demons, the other battles hers daily. I loved every moment of exploring their duality, and I think viewers will be shocked by where their story leads.”
Ankit Bhatia, as Inspector Kunal, described his role as a psychological balancing act. “Kunal is a man driven by duty but tormented by doubt. His investigation is as much a test of his mind as it is of his soul. As the mystery unfolds, the series will leave audiences questioning everything they thought they knew about Anamika, Shuchi, and especially, Kunal.”
Palak Singh added that her role was emotionally intense, saying, “She’s caught in the crossfire of secrets and betrayals, and that intensity challenged me to bring a raw vulnerability to the screen.” Meanwhile, Kartiq Jain praised the series’ core premise, sharing, “What drew me to Judwaa Jaal was how it blurs the lines between reality and deception. It was fascinating to explore the spaces where loyalty, love, and betrayal collide.”
Streaming now on Hungama OTT and partner platforms including Tata Play Binge, Watcho, BSNL, PlayboxTV, RailWire Broadband, Airtel Xstream Play, and Dor TV — ‘Judwaa Jaal’ offers an edge-of-the-seat narrative that promises to keep viewers glued with every shocking revelation.
