HBO is developing a new television series based on Poison Ivy, one of the popular villains from the Batman universe. Lauren LeFranc, who created and led HBO’s crime drama ‘The Penguin’, is in talks to join the project as a producer.
According to a PTI report, which cited an article in Variety, the proposed series will focus on Poison Ivy, a DC Comics character known for her ability to control plants and influence people through special pheromones.
Her real name is Pamela Isley, and she has appeared in several Batman films and television shows.
LeFranc is expected to work as a producer on the project and is not currently attached as a writer.
The series is still in development and HBO has not officially approved it. Details about the cast and storyline have not yet been announced.
Poison Ivy was famously played by Uma Thurman in the 1997 film ‘Batman and Robin’. The character has also appeared in television series such as ‘Gotham’ and ‘Batwoman’, as well as the animated series ‘Harley Quinn’.
