After tugging at heartstrings with teenage blushes, long-distance calls, and schoolyard dilemmas, ‘Gutar Gu’, Amazon MX Player’s beloved young adult romance series, returns with its third season.
Powered by Mamaearth and produced by Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment alongside Achin Jain, the new chapter in Anuj and Ritu’s journey premieres for free on July 17 exclusively on Amazon MX Player.
According to an Amazon MX Player press release, the trailer unveiled that picks up exactly where the previous season left off. With Ritu landing an internship in Mumbai, she finally moves to the same city as Anuj. But living under one roof brings its own surprises—especially when Anuj’s mother is already staying with him. Homeless and with limited options, Ritu moves in too, setting the stage for an emotional and often awkward triangular co-living situation. From adjusting to clashing schedules to navigating unspoken rules and growing distance, the couple now finds their love tested in more adult ways.
Bringing back fan favourites Ashlesha Thakur and Vishesh Bansal as Ritu and Anuj, Gutar Gu Season 3 promises to retain its signature charm while digging deeper into the trials of young adulthood and modern love.
Amogh Dusad, Director and Head of Content at Amazon MX Player, stated, “Gutar Gu has always stood out because it captures young love with tenderness, without losing sight of the growing pains. Season 3 builds on everything the audience has connected with. It’s emotionally grounded, rooted in culture, and relatable to a young audience.”
Ashlesha Thakur reflected on her role: “This season felt closer to real life than ever before. Ritu is still the same girl at heart, but now she’s dealing with the kind of choices that don’t have clear answers. There’s hope, there’s doubt, and there’s a quiet strength she’s learning to find.”
Producer Guneet Monga Kapoor added, “At Sikhya, we’ve loved and championed Saqib Pandor’s world of Gutar Gu. Now in its 3rd season, Ashlesha and Vishesh continue to bring honesty and relatability to adulting with your ‘Pehla Pyaar’. Collaborating with Amazon MX Player to bring this story to life has been creatively fulfilling.”
Director Saqib Pandor echoed the sentiment, noting how rare it is for a love story to resonate deeply with audiences across seasons. “We started Gutar Gu with the intention of capturing the innocence and grace of young love. Season 3 is a step deeper into real life, and I’m excited for audiences to grow with these characters once again,” he said.
‘Gutar Gu’ S3 will be available to stream for free starting July 17 on Amazon MX Player via the MX Player app, Amazon shopping app, Prime Video, Fire TV, and Airtel Xstream, making it easily accessible to a broad audience.
The show continues to be a rare, tender portrayal of first love growing up—awkward, unpredictable, but unmistakably real.
