The dark-comedy thriller ‘Greedy People’, starring Himesh Patel, Lily James, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, is set for a digital release on Lionsgate Play on November 22.
Directed by Potsy Ponciroli, the film delves into a murder mystery in a small island town, where the discovery of a hidden fortune spirals the community into chaos.
Reflecting on the project, Patel expressed his excitement about the film’s blend of comedy and dark storytelling. “I love comedy…but I also like it to have real truth and substance. This certainly had that in bundles,” he shared.
Working alongside director Ponciroli, Patel appreciated the director’s vision for the film’s twisty, suspenseful narrative, IANS reported.
To prepare for his role, Patel worked with a dialect coach, noting that he collaborated closely with co-star Lily James to create authentic, complementary performances. Patel plays Will Shelley, while Gordon-Levitt takes on the role of Officer Terry Brogan.
The film explores how the discovery of a hidden million dollars stirs unrest, with escalating tensions and a web of poor decisions unfolding in the town.
