Bollywood icons Govinda and Chunky Panday took audiences on a laughter-filled nostalgic ride in the latest episode of Prime Video’s talk show ‘Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle’. The charismatic duo, known for their unbeatable comic timing and memorable on-screen chemistry in ‘Aankhen’, shared a treasure trove of untold stories from their early industry struggles to little-known celebrity connections leaving fans both surprised and amused.
According to a press release, the episode featured the actors at their candid best, opening up about some truly jaw-dropping revelations that blended humour, heart, and a dose of 90s nostalgia. The conversation between Kajol and Twinkle Khanna turned into a storytelling session filled with anecdotes that only seasoned entertainers like Govinda and Chunky could bring alive.
Chunky Panday stunned everyone when he revealed a surprising link between his family and Shah Rukh Khan’s debut show Fauji. “Humare poore parivar mein koi actor bana nahi kabhi. Haan mere mamaji, Col. Raj Kapoor, unhone Fauji serial banayi Shah Rukh ke saath,” he shared, revealing that his maternal uncle, Col. Raj Kapoor, was the man behind the show that launched SRK into stardom.
Govinda, on the other hand, had the audience in splits as he recalled one of the most unexpected collaborations of his career dancing alongside British pop star Samantha Fox. He reminisced about how he agreed to star in the film not for money, but for just “one dozen bananas and a coconut,” and was stunned when Fox appeared on set. “Toh vo picture ka gaana aaya aur saamne dekha toh, Oh my God, Samantha Fox!” he laughed.
The ‘Hero No. 1’ star also spoke fondly of the mentor who helped shape his iconic dance style. While he credited Saroj Khan for his early training, Govinda said it was Kamal Masterji who gave him his trademark groove. “He showed me how to dance and express without speaking,” he said, explaining how his moves became a form of storytelling in themselves.
Adding to the light-hearted confessions, Chunky Panday revealed a little-known fact about his family both his parents were doctors. “Mera Pitaji heart surgeon they, meri mummy doctor thi aur meri mummy poore film industry ko jaanti thi,” he said, recalling how his mother was once the go-to medical expert for Bollywood stars.
The episode perfectly captured the essence of 90s Bollywood — a mix of larger-than-life charm, humility, and humour. Conceptualised and produced by Banijay Asia, ‘Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle’ is presented by Oppo and co-presented by Kohler, Kalyan Jewellers, and Fevi Kwik. The fourth episode of the series will stream this Thursday on Prime Video across 240 countries and territories, with new episodes releasing every week.
