Google Photos has introduced a new ‘Updates page’, designed to enhance how users monitor changes in shared albums.
The feature, now available on Android and iOS, brings a simplified way to track activity within shared albums and conversations, creating a more organized experience for users.
The ‘Updates’ section replaces the old sharing button, marked now by a bell icon that opens a timeline view of recent notifications.
This feature, according to ANI, organizes updates chronologically with filters such as “today,” “yesterday,” “this week,” and more, making it easier to follow new actions in shared albums. Google Photos’ support post explained that the aim is to improve accessibility for users managing albums and conversations with multiple collaborators.
In addition to ‘Updates’, Google Photos has launched a Collections section, which consolidates both personal and shared albums for easier navigation. With phased rollouts typical for Google, the feature may not be immediately available to all users but is expected to reach a broader audience in the coming weeks.
