Fox Entertainment and Hulu have announced a multi-year agreement that secures Hulu’s exclusive streaming rights to Fox’s programming lineup. Valued at over $1.5 billion across four years, this strategic collaboration underscores the increasing consumer demand for streaming content.
Hulu will retain rights to stream Fox’s popular shows, including ‘The Masked Singer,’ ‘The Simpsons,’ and ‘Family Guy,’ the day after their television broadcasts, The Deadline reported.
The agreement also allows Hulu to stream off-season episodes of various Fox unscripted series.
Fox and Hulu will continue to leverage their partnership for collaborative marketing campaigns, enhancing their reach and viewer engagement.
While Hulu strengthens its position with Fox content, Fox’s own ad-supported streaming platform, Tubi, is experiencing rapid growth, projected to surpass $1 bn in revenue this fiscal year. This development reflects Fox’s dual approach—partnering with Hulu for immediate streaming demand while building its standalone platform for long-term gains.
Meanwhile, Disney, Hulu’s parent company, is focused on bolstering profitability in its streaming division through measures like price hikes and anti-password sharing policies.
Lauren Tempest, Hulu’s General Manager, emphasized the collaboration’s impact, “This partnership continues to offer viewers unparalleled access to Fox’s beloved programming, enhancing the convenience and value of streaming.”
The renewed partnership highlights a shared commitment to adapting to the evolving streaming landscape while delivering quality content to a growing digital audience.
