The Entertainers Cricket League (ECL) is set for a thrilling comeback with its second edition, streaming live on Prasar Bharati’s Waves OTT platform from March 5 to March 16.
After a blockbuster debut season, the influencer-driven cricket tournament is back with even bigger competition, featuring 150 top digital creators battling it out on the cricket field.
The Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Delhi will host the grand opening ceremony, which will be inaugurated by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on March 5. The first match will witness a clash between the Haryanvi Hunters and Rajasthan Rangers, setting the tone for an action-packed season, IANS reported.
This year, ECL expands its lineup with three new teams joining the fray:
Rajasthan Rangers, captained by YouTuber Zayn Saifi
Kolkata Superstars, led by Pushkar Raj Thakur
Chennai Smashers, helmed by Mahesh Keshwala
These newcomers will compete alongside returning stars such as Munawar Faruqui, Abhishek Malhan, Elvish Yadav, Sonu Sharma, and Anurag Dwivedi, making the competition fiercer than ever.
Prasar Bharati CEO Gaurav Dwivedi expressed his excitement about broadcasting the league,“We are thrilled to bring the Entertainers Cricket League live to our viewers on Waves OTT! This season promises to be an electrifying showcase of talent, fierce competition, and unmatched fan enthusiasm.”
Himanshu Chandnani, Founder of ECL, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the significance of Waves OTT as a broadcasting partner,“Having Waves as our sponsor aligns perfectly with our vision for the league. Their support ensures a more exciting and engaging experience for fans.”
With record participation, high-energy cricket, and a grand finale set for March 16, the Entertainers Cricket League is poised to be one of the biggest influencer-driven sporting events of the year.
