The much-anticipated film ‘Kaantha’, starring Dulquer Salmaan, Bhagyashri Borse, and Samuthirakani, officially launched with a traditional pooja ceremony at Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad. Directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, Kaantha is produced by Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media, an arm of Suresh Productions, in collaboration with Dulquer’s Wayfarer Films.
According to PTI, ‘Kaantha’ is set in 1950s Madras, a period marked by social change and dynamic transformations in human relationships. The film aims to capture the essence of this bygone era while telling a story that resonates with contemporary emotions. Speaking about the film, director Selvamani Selvaraj said, “With ‘Kaantha’, we aim to transport audiences to a bygone era, capturing its essence while telling a story that resonates with contemporary emotions.”
Rana Daggubati expressed excitement over producing ‘Kaantha’, stating, “This is the ideal film to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Suresh Productions and mark a new beginning with Spirit Media.” Dulquer Salmaan also shared his enthusiasm, highlighting the film’s emotional depth: “This is a beautifully layered story that captures the depths of human emotions and gives an actor a lot of scope to perform.”
The pooja ceremony saw the cast and crew of ‘Kaantha’, including Dulquer Salmaan, Bhagyashri Borse, Samuthirakani, and guests, dressed in traditional ivory and gold attire. The ceremony was graced by several notable figures, such as actor Venkatesh Daggubati, who gave the inaugural clap, and Rana’s wife, Miheeka Bajaj. Other attendees included Suresh Babu, Kalki 2898 AD producers Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt, and Lucky Baskhar director Venky Atluri.
‘Kaantha’ will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, and features a talented creative team. The film is co-produced by Prashanth Potluri and Jom Varghese, with cinematography by Dani Sanchez Lopez, music by Jhanu, art direction by Ramalingam, writing by Tamizh Prabha, and editing by Lewellyn Anthony Gonsalves.
Rana Daggubati will soon be seen in TJ Gnanavel’s ‘Vettaiyan’ alongside Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, and Fahadh Faasil. Dulquer Salmaan is set to appear in ‘Lucky Baskhar’ and ‘Aakasam Lo Oka Tara’. Bhagyashri Borse will star in an upcoming film with Vijay Deverakonda, after recently appearing in ‘Mr. Bachchan’. Meanwhile, Samuthirakani will feature in ‘Game Changer’ and ‘Ramam Raghavam’.
With a strong ensemble cast, an intriguing storyline set against a historic backdrop, and a celebrated production team, ‘Kaantha’ is set to captivate audiences across multiple languages, promising a cinematic experience that blends nostalgia with contemporary storytelling.
