Indian Broadcasting and Digital Foundation (IBDF) held its 24th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Delhi on October 31, 2023, re-electing K Madhavan, Disney Star President and Country Manager, as its president for the third consecutive term. This reaffirms his leadership and commitment to the organization.
Additionally, Network18 MD Rahul Joshi and India TV chairman Rajat Sharma have been re-elected as vice presidents, with responsibilities for Government and regulatory Affairs and News and current Affairs, respectively, Economic Times reported.
Punit Misra, President of Content & International Markets at Zee Entertainment Enterprises, has been re-elected as the Treasurer.
Two new members have been co-opted to the IBDF board, namely Viacom18 CEO of TV and Digital for regional business and Kairali TV MD John Brittas.
The IBDF board also features several re-elected directors, including I. Venkat (Eenadu TV), Rahul Joshi (Network18), Rajat Sharma (India TV), Punit Misra (Zee), and K Madhavan (Disney Star).
Other directors on the IBDF board include Aroon Purie (TV Today), NP Singh (Sony Pictures), Nitin Nadkarni (Sony Pictures), Punit Goenka (Zee), R. Mahesh Kumar (Sun TV), and Gaurav Banerjee (Disney Star).
During the AGM, IBDF President K Madhavan addressed the members and highlighted the resilience of the Indian media and entertainment industry, even in the face of ongoing geopolitical challenges. He emphasized India’s digital transformation journey, with the rapid expansion of broadband and the rollout of 5G services across a vast portion of the country.
