DishTV Watcho launches FLIQS to boost OTT access

Dish TV India Ltd.—India’s leading content distribution company and its first Direct-to-Home operator—has announced the launch of a disruptive digital content segment titled ‘FLIQS’ on its Watcho app.

The launch, which took place at WAVES 2025, marks a strategic innovation aimed at democratising content distribution and creating a thriving economy for professional content creators across India and the globe.

This announcement follows the success of the first-ever Content India 2025 Summit held in April this year. The summit laid the foundation for Dish TV’s ongoing efforts to support the creator economy and foster a new generation of digital-first storytelling. FLIQS is positioned as a major milestone in this journey, offering independent and professional content creators the unique opportunity to showcase their work, monetise freely, and retain full control—akin to owning their own OTT platform.

This information was shared through an official press release, highlighting the company’s vision to transform the OTT experience into a more open, personalised, and accessible digital space for both creators and consumers.

FLIQS, embedded within the Watcho app, promises viewers a rich, curated library of exclusive, original, award-winning and premium content, cutting across regional and international languages. From short-format content and web series to independent films, it offers something for every taste. With pricing beginning at just ₹9 per content title—and a wealth of snackable content available free—FLIQS provides unmatched value in a highly competitive market.

Speaking on the launch, Manoj Dobhal, CEO and Executive Director of Dish TV India Ltd., remarked, “With FLIQS, we are taking a big and bold leap towards redefining what an OTT service can be. This isn’t just another content launch—it’s a statement of intent. FLIQS represents a new generation of curated, exclusive digital storytelling that aligns with the evolving consumer demand for distinct, high-value content. While the industry has seen a proliferation of platforms, very few offer something truly differentiated. FLIQS fills that gap by bringing untold stories, original productions, and exclusive titles into a highly personalized, affordable ecosystem.”
He added that FLIQS also supports India’s growing community of independent storytellers by giving them a premium platform to reach wider audiences and monetise effectively. “This marks a significant step forward, not just for Dish TV, but for the Indian OTT landscape as a whole,” he said.
