Discovery has won awards in seven categories at the national round of the Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA) 2026. The awards recognise its content across documentaries, lifestyle programmes, animation and non-scripted entertainment on Discovery and discovery+.

According to a press release issued by Discovery India, the documentary series ‘Nithari: Truth, Lies and Murder’ won the Best Documentary Series award.

The three-part series featured Moninder Singh Pandher sharing his version of events on camera for the first time. The documentary received attention following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Surinder Koli’s final conviction.

The adventure survival series ‘Naked and Afraid: Aadimanav’ won two awards: Best Infotainment Programme and Best Non-Scripted Entertainment.

The series brought together six participants from different backgrounds in the wilderness of Palawan in the Philippines, where they faced harsh conditions and tested their survival skills.

The five-episode animated series ‘You Know Who’, an extension of the documentary series ‘Embers of Hope’, won the Best Animation award. It uses humour and commentary from the animal kingdom to highlight the damage caused to the planet by human activities.

‘Pandharpur Wari: In the Footsteps of the Saints’ won the Best Branded Programme award. The documentary follows Warkaris, devotees of Lord Vitthal, on their 250-kilometre pilgrimage over 21 days, highlighting their devotion and the community effort behind the centuries-old tradition.

‘World on My Plate with Shipra Khanna’ won the Best Lifestyle Programme award.

Hosted by chef and television personality Khanna, the three-episode series explores food, travel and culture through the stories and traditions behind different dishes.

Meanwhile, ‘Into the Green: Discovering Jharkhand’ won the Best Short Form award. The programme showcases Jharkhand’s forests, waterfalls, wildlife habitats and growing ecotourism sector, while highlighting the role of local communities.

The national-winning entries will now compete at the Asia Pacific Grand Awards finale, scheduled to take place in Singapore on December 2-3.
