The first-ever India-Taiwan co-production film ‘Demon Hunters’ is set for its digital premiere across the Indian subcontinent on May 15. Following its theatrical release and screenings at international film festivals, the film will now stream on JioHotstar and Amazon Prime Video, expanding its reach to audiences across multiple languages and regions.
According to a press release, JioHotstar will stream the film in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, while Amazon Prime Video will additionally offer Mandarin and English language options. The release marks a significant moment for Asian cinema collaboration, with the project being promoted as the first official co-production between India and Taiwan.
Directed by Meijuin Chen, the film has been produced by Light House Productions in collaboration with Kleos Entertainment Group. The cast includes Arjan Bajwa, JC Lin, Jack Kao, Harry Chang and Regina Lei in key roles.
‘Demon Hunters’ blends multiple genres including action, horror, comedy, romance and science fiction, positioning itself as a large-scale entertainer designed for family audiences and international viewers alike. The makers describe the film as an example of cross-cultural storytelling aimed at connecting audiences beyond geographical and language boundaries.
The production also features contributions from internationally experienced crew members, including teams associated with action and cinematography units linked to legendary martial arts star Jackie Chan. Technically, the film is mounted on a large scale with more than 700 VFX shots, adding to its visually ambitious storytelling style.
Musically, the project attempts to merge Taiwanese and Hindi influences into a single soundtrack. One of the highlights of the album is the Bollywood-inspired song ‘Dadaji Ka Jadoo’, which has been distributed by Sony Music Taiwan.
At the centre of the story is Tommy, a YouTuber famous for staging fake exorcisms whose life changes dramatically after he encounters an actual supernatural force. The storyline combines humour, mystery and fantasy elements while exploring themes of fear, deception and destiny.
