Colors Kannada has introduced a new family drama, ‘Nanna Devru’. The show features a compelling narrative centered on family values and social service, promising to be a heartwarming addition to its programming.
‘Nanna Devru’ tells the story of Mayuri, a kind-hearted nurse from the humble town of Brahmadurga, who works at one of the many charity hospitals run by the revered philanthropist and industrialist Sacchidananda. Mayuri admires Sacchidananda for his extensive social work and views him as a living embodiment of virtue, aspiring to follow in his footsteps.
Sacchidananda, a 44-year-old widower, has a 20-year-old rebellious daughter, Sakshi, who works as a bartender in Bengaluru. Their strained relationship adds an emotional layer to the story, as Sacchidananda hopes to reconnect with his daughter while navigating challenges from his envious family members.
Mayuri, an orphan raised by her adopted parents Sukumar and Madhavi, is deeply loyal to Sacchidananda. She is determined to protect him and his reputation during difficult times, showcasing her unwavering support and innocence.
The show stars Mayuri Kyathari, beloved for her role in ‘Ashwini Nakshatra’, as Mayuri, and Avinash Divakar, grandson of Kannada comic legend Narashimharaju, as Sacchidananda. The cast also includes Yukta Malnad, Swathi, V Manohar, Rekha Das, Nishitha Gowda, Malathi Sudhir, Yamuna Shrinidhi, Ravi Brahma, and Abhishek Shrikanth.
Produced by Shruthi Naidu, known for her successful production ‘Olavina Nildana’, and directed by Ramesh Indira alongside Naidu, ‘Nanna Devru’ promises a captivating narrative exploring themes of innocence and righteousness.
Prashanth Nayak.B, Business Head of Colors Kannada, expressed his enthusiasm for the show, “As a brand, we are always loved by our audiences for bringing fresh stories and their successful execution. Continuing that legacy, ‘Nanna Devru’ presents a captivating narrative that explores the themes of innocence and righteousness. It showcases how these virtues navigate relentless challenges to achieve a greater purpose – social service.”
‘Nanna Devru’ premieres exclusively on Colors Kannada starting today at 6:30 pm, airing Monday-Saturday. The show will also be available on JioCinema.
