The upcoming Colors show ‘Suhaagan‘ explores the quandary of a fiesty woman through the story of Bindiya, a young orphan girl who is burdened with household chores by her extended family, and who also wants to take over her inherited property.
Despite her circumstances and existential crisis, Bindiya is an innocent, thoughtful, and optimistic elder sister who looks after her mischievous younger sister Payal, who suffers the consequences of her pranks.
Aakriti Sharma will play the character of young Bindiya, and Kurangi Nagraj will play the role of young Payal.
The show, produced by Rashmi Sharma and conceptualized by Vivek Bahl, will premiere on May 2 and will air every Monday through Sunday at 6.30 pm on COLORS.
Set in Uttar Pradesh, ‘Suhaagan’ follows Bindiya (Aakriti Sharma), a source of unwavering courage in the face of adversity, and her younger sister Payal (Kurangi Nagraj), who enjoys pushing boundaries and testing her limits. The two sisters live with their ailing grandmother and are unaware of her relatives’ true intentions, which are to seize her farm.
Talking about the show, Manisha Sharma, Chief Content Officer, Hindi Mass Entertainment, Viacom18, says, “At COLORS, we are dedicated to presenting engaging narratives that build a deep connection with the masses. We are delighted to bring another such story with ‘Suhaagan’ that echoes the true sentiments of every household.”
