Hyderabad-based media-tech startup Cinystore Technologies has launched ‘KeepItShort’, an over-the-top (OTT) platform exclusively designed for student filmmakers.
This initiative aims to provide a dedicated space for aspiring directors, editors, cinematographers, screenwriters, and storytellers to showcase their talents and gain industry exposure, the startup platform said in a press release.
‘KeepItShort’ targets over 500,000 current and alumni students from more than 1,500 film institutes and 1,200 animation schools across India. The platform anticipates receiving over 1,000–1,200 team entries, each comprising at least five student members, potentially engaging more than 6,000 budding filmmakers at launch.
The platform offers a unique opportunity for students to present their work directly to audiences and industry professionals, bypassing traditional barriers. By leveraging AI-powered tools, ‘KeepItShort’ enables creators to track audience behavior, optimize distribution, and explore monetization avenues within a user-friendly interface.
The launch has garnered attention from major film and animation institutes, media governing bodies, and production houses, many of which are eager to collaborate and scout fresh storytelling talent. The platform is seen as a new-age discovery engine for India’s next generation of filmmakers.
‘KeepItShort‘ is more than just a streaming platform; it’s a launchpad for aspiring filmmakers to gain recognition, receive feedback, and connect with mentors. By fostering collaboration between film institutes, industry experts, and emerging talent, the platform aims to create career opportunities and celebrate the future of Indian cinema.
