Ultra Play, India’s only Hindi-exclusive OTT platform, has unveiled its latest original film Khalnigranaaya, a gritty crime thriller starring popular television actor Dayanand Shetty, best known for his role as ACP Daya in the long-running series CID.
The film premiered on the platform on Friday, September 19, 2025.
Directed by Sumesh N. Pillai, the action-packed drama revolves around ACP Vikram, played by Shetty, whose life takes a devastating turn when his newborn child is kidnapped by unknown culprits. In his desperate quest to rescue the infant, Vikram is drawn into the dark underbelly of rural crime, where vengeance, power struggles, and family ties collide.
The ensemble cast also includes Neetha Shetty, Palak Singh, and Ashutosh Pandey, whose performances lend emotional depth to a story that promises equal measures of suspense and sentiment.
Sushilkumar Agrawal, CEO of Ultra Media & Entertainment, called the film a reflection of the platform’s bold vision. “Khalnigranaaya is a testament to Ultra Play’s commitment to bold storytelling — addressing issues that are often left untouched, yet are crucial to understanding the fabric of society,” he said in a statement.
Ultra Play, which offers a library of over 2,000 Hindi films and series, has carved a niche as the largest streaming destination exclusively for Hindi content, ranging from golden-era classics to ’90s favorites and contemporary originals. With Khalnigranaaya, the platform continues to expand its slate of socially relevant, high-impact stories aimed at Hindi-speaking audiences worldwide.
The film is now available for streaming exclusively on Ultra Play.
