Bharti Airtel has announced the appointment of Sharat Sinha as the new CEO of Airtel Business, effective June 3, 2024. Sinha will report directly to Gopal Vittal, CEO and MD of Bharti Airtel, and will join the Airtel Management Board, the company said in a press release.
Sharat Sinha brings a wealth of experience from his previous role as President of Asia Pacific at Checkpoint Software Technologies Limited. His career also includes leadership positions at Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, and VMware, as well as early roles at Ericsson and VSNL, providing him with a robust telecom background.
Gopal Vittal expressed confidence in Sinha’s ability to drive Airtel’s growth, stating, “Sharat’s broad global experience in product management and business leadership across many of the world’s leading technology companies will provide tremendous firepower to Airtel’s ambitions in rapidly growing our portfolio across connectivity and adjacencies.”
Sinha shared his enthusiasm about the new role, saying, “Airtel Business is a leader in the B2B space offering marquee solutions to enterprises. I am delighted to join this passionate team as they continue to steer towards enhancing their leadership with future-ready technology innovations and solutions that deliver greater value to customers.”
