After entertaining television audiences for over a decade, the popular comedy series ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’ is all set to make its theatrical debut. The much-loved sitcom has been adapted into a feature film titled ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain: Fun On The Run’, which is scheduled to release in cinemas on February 6.
Ahead of the release, the makers recently unveiled a new poster on the film’s official Instagram handle, sparking excitement among fans of the franchise.
According to a UNI report, the film promises to bring the familiar humour, characters and catchphrases that made the television show a household favourite to the big screen. Audiences will once again see Vibhuti, Tiwari, Angoori Bhabhi, Anita Bhabhi, Happu Singh and Saxena, whose quirky personalities and comic timing have defined the show’s enduring appeal.
Actors Aasif Sheikh, Rohithash Gour and Shubhangi Atre reprise their iconic roles, ensuring continuity for long-time viewers. The film also expands the universe with the addition of new characters played by Ravi Kishan, Mukesh Tiwari and Nirahua, adding fresh energy to the narrative while staying rooted in the essence of the original series.
The film project was first announced in November last year, confirming that the long-running television comedy would be adapted for a cinematic audience. ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain: Fun On The Run’ is produced by Zee Cinema in association with Edit II, marking a significant step for the franchise as it transitions from television to theatres.
Originally launched on &TV on March 2, 2015, ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’ revolves around two neighbouring couples—the Mishras and the Tiwaris—and humorously portrays the husbands’ relentless attempts to impress each other’s wives. Over the years, the show has built a loyal fan base and later found a wider digital audience on ZEE5.
The success of the series also led to the spin-off ‘Happu Ki Ultan Paltan’ in 2019, centred on the popular character Happu Singh. With its film adaptation now ready for release, ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’ aims to recreate its small-screen magic on the big screen, offering fans a nostalgic yet fresh comedic experience.
