BBC Studios and All3Media have joined forces to bring two scripted dramas to Indian viewers. BBC Studios India Production, renowned for its high-quality dramas in the Indian streaming market, will adapt All3Media’s popular shows for the local audience.
One of the dramas to be adapted is Shameless, a comedy-drama originally created by Paul Abbot and Company Pictures for Channel 4. Set in an urban environment, the series follows the unconventional Gallagher family as they navigate a dilapidated housing estate.
Filled with thrilling escapades, triumphs, and a touch of criminality, the show explores the challenges of adolescence and the intoxicating allure of first love, Sources reported.
The second drama, known as ‘Strangers’ or ‘White Dragon,’ is a captivating crime drama. It centers around Professor Jonah Mulray, whose life takes a drastic turn when his wife dies in a tragic car accident in Hong Kong, a city she frequently visited for work.
Determined to uncover the truth, Jonah delves into a web of conspiracy that unravels his understanding of his wife’s life.
Through this partnership, BBC Studios India Production will adapt and develop these two titles for the Indian market and secure commissions for their production. This collaboration allows both companies to elevate their reach and engage a wider audience in India by adapting these premium British formats for local viewers.
BBC Studios Production India has a remarkable track record in producing outstanding dramas, including Criminal Justice, ‘Out of Love,’ ‘Rudra: The Edge of Darkness,’ and ‘Dead Pixels’, among others.
