Archie Panjabi, acclaimed for her role in ‘The Good Wife’, has been cast as the antagonist in the upcoming second season of the beloved sci-fi series ‘Doctor Who’. The announcement has generated excitement among fans, although specific details about her character are being kept under wraps.

Archie Panjabi joins the Doctor Who universe alongside Ncuti Gatwa, who plays the titular Time Lord, and Millie Gibson, who stars as his companion Ruby Sunday.

Varada Sethu will also be featured as Belinda Chandra, a co-companion to the 15^th Doctor, a IANS report stated.

Panjabi gained recognition in 2002 with her role in ‘Bend It Like Beckham’ directed by Gurinder Chadha. She won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2010 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Kalinda Sharma in ‘The Good Wife’. Currently, she stars in and executive produces the Peacock Original series ‘Departure’.
